Have a great weekend! There are some exciting events this weekend that we hope to make it to, starting with The Backyard Bash. Our son loves wide open spaces to run in and enjoys picking fruit and petting animals so we will hang out at Ticonderoga at some point. There are a few evening events for those with older children that sound like a blast! The weather should be gorgeous so if you’re looking to head to an outdoor water park or splash park here’s your guide!

10:00am: Bob Brown Puppeteer at Glen Echo

Lights are on, doors are open as Bob Brown tells the story of Old MacDonald through puppets during the Tiny Tots performance. Recommended for ages 0-4, $5. My 3 year old saw Bob Brown at camp this week and hasn’t stopped talking about it!
10:00am: Mr. Gabe and the Circle Time All-Stars at Lake Fairfax Park Amphitheater

Mr. Gabe and his band, the Circle Time All-Stars, perform a mix of traditional children’s songs, family-friendly pop songs, and originals from Mr. Gabe’s award-winning CD, Play Date. Free event part of the Fairfax County “Arts in the Parks” series.
10:00am-5:00pm: Backyard Bash at Ticonderoga Farms

Fun includes hayrides, moon bounce, slides and tunnels, animal petting, sprinklers and more. Enjoy summer while it’s still here! Admission is $10.95, children 2 and under are free. For an additional charge you can pick your own fruit and veggies and enjoy concessions.

Join Tysons Corner Center on Saturday evenings at dark for our complimentary Movies on the Green series. Enjoy evenings outside with friends and family while watching your favorite films on our spectacular new outdoor plaza. The Plaza is located on level 2 across from Microsoft. Picnics are encouraged, but no alcohol is permitted on the plaza. Lawn seating available on a first-come first-serve basis. Lawn chairs available for use on a first-come first-serve basis, or bring your own chair or blanket.
8:30pm: Clowns without Borders Fundraiser at Trapeze School

Come out to support CWB by bringing the family to the circus! TSNY DC will be hosting this amazing night of entertainment, featuring the high-flying talents of the TSNY staff, dazzling with double and triple trapeze, silks, lyra, hand to hand acrobatics, and a flying trapeze show! The clowns will keep you rolling with their antics. Not to mention family-friendly activities like our photo booth, face painting, balloon twisting, and juggling station. Plus some delicious food from Nando’s Peri Peri! Adults $25, Children under 12 $15.

2:00pm: Step Afrika at National Building Museum

Step to the Beat! Students will perform along with Step Afrika!, the nation’s leading professional touring step troupe. Presented in collaboration with Washington Performing Arts. The concert is free. While you’re there grab tickets to go through the 18 foot high Big Maze before it closes Sept.1.
6:00pm: Target Family Night at The Kennedy Center presents Philadelphia Jazz Orchestra
(2700 F St NW, Washington, DC 20566– Millenium Stage)
The group, comprised of some of the best high school and college jazz musicians in the Greater Philadelphia and New Jersey regions, presents a family-friendly concert for all ages. Free performance, no tickets required.
