9:00am-12:00pm: Home Depot Kids Workshop
Save the day with a tow truck in this hands-on workshop. Together you and your child can build a custom toy tow truck with an operational boom to rescue model vehicles from ditches and embankments, move disabled vehicles or simply put the model on display. Once your wrecker construction is complete, your child can customize it with paint and stickers. All Kids Workshop attendees must be accompanied by a parent or adult at all times. All kids get to keep their craft, receive a FREE certificate of achievement, a Workshop Apron, and a commemorative pin while supplies last. Children must be present at the store to participate in the workshop and receive the kit, apron and pin.
10:00am-5:00pm: Where’s Waldo? Glass Truck Tour
Join a fun family-friendly mobile truck tour coming to DC on Saturday, July 6th from 10am – 5pm! The truck will be traveling to key cities to promote “Where’s Waldo?”, a new show on Universal Kids that will be premiering this summer.
10:30am: The MadCap Puppets at Wolf Trap Children’s Theatre-in-the-Woods
Famous space explorer, Buzby, crash lands his spaceship on a strange planet and forms an unlikely friendship with a stranded alien named Galax. Together, they uncover the mysteries of the universe as they search for a new planet that the funny little creature can call home.
10:30am-12:30pm: Creativity Workshop at The Phillips Collection
Let your creativity fly in our art-making stations—it’s an art materials “petting zoo” for the whole family! Comes with Artful Wellness Kit for parents and caregivers. Geared for families with children ages 2 to 8.
8:30pm: NSO presents Harry Potter at Wolf Trap
The Harry Potter™ film series is a once-in-a-lifetime cultural phenomenon that delights millions of fans around the world. This concert will feature the National Symphony Orchestra performing every note from Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire™. Audiences will be able to relive the magic of the film in high-definition on a giant HD screen while hearing the orchestra perform Patrick Doyle’s unforgettable score live to picture.

11:00am-5:00pm: National Building Museum Summer Block Party
The Museum is partnering with the LAB at Rockwell Group to present the 2019 Summer Block Party installation. Lawn will be an immersive installation taking up the entirety of the Museum’s Great Hall, and offer interactive experiences for all ages. Lawn allows guests to unwind with quintessential summer activities while connecting to the design of the Museum. It features a vast, sloping green space built on a scaffolding superstructure. The green expanse is set on a graceful incline and dotted with clusters of communal lounging areas. Visitors can enjoy refreshments and lawn games like croquet, bocce ball, and dominoes. At the top of the lawn is a scaffolding tower that reaches the height of the Museum’s third floor, offering never-before-seen views of the Great Hall, column capitals, and sculptural busts lining the roof.
11:00am: Women’s World Cup Watch Party at the Wharf
Cheer on team USA on the waterfront at The Wharf! Enjoy the Women’s World Cup Final on a 16-foot jumbo-tron screen on Wharf Street, broadcasting to the Pearl Street party zone. Enjoy food and drink on the patios of Kirwan’s on the Wharf, Kaliwa, Pearl Street Warehouse, and Lupo Marino. The event is free to attend, all ages welcome.
11:00am: Women’s World Cup Watch Party at National Harbor
Kick It at National Harbor during World Cup France 2019! Join the live broadcast of USA vs Netherlands. Get there early for stadium seating in the new District Stadium, a converted cargo crate complete with lighting, ceiling fans, shaded seating, and beverage service; plus food and beverage specials. Or bring a chair, blanket, and umbrella and sit on the turf.

The Edlavitch DCJCC Parenting Center is proud to bring you *Parenting Without Power Struggles *on Thursday, July 18 at 7:30pm, hosted by Mary’s Center in Ontario Road in Adams Morgan. This workshop that will provide strategies for how to encourage your child’s growing need to assert independence while still maintaining your control and authority. Struggles around mealtime, potty training, cooperation, and others will be addressed. Led by Claire Lerner, a licensed clinical social worker and child development specialist.
