Weekend picks for families in and around Washington, DC

Strawberry Jubilee at Great Country Farms
Join the longest running strawberry festival in Loudoun County all weekend long. To celebrate the royal strawberry, our Jubilee is packed with live music, farm contests, wagon rides, great food and fun games for the whole family! In addition to The Roosteraunt’s traditional offerings, they will be serving Donut Strawberry Shortcake, chocolate dipped Strawberries and hand-dipped ice cream from Trickling Springs Creamery as well baked goods including strawberry rhubarb pies. Also taking place June 1+2.

Delaplane Strawberry Festival
Bring the whole family and enjoy a fun and festive day in the Virginia countryside at Sky Meadows State Park near Delaplane, VA this weekend. The festival is put on by Emmanuel Episcopal Church and proceeds fund outreach ministries within our church and grants to worthy organizations in our local community, state and beyond. Enjoy hayrides, old fashioned field games, dancing, music, magic, storytelling, crafts, a petting farm, bake sale, hikes in the shadow of the Appalachian Trail, face painting, cake-walking, Corn Hole, a monkey and much more!

Winnie the Pooh at Adventure Theatre is closing the curtains this weekend. Winnie the Pooh would spend every day of life humming tunes and stopping frequently to eat “a little something.” But today, Pooh and Piglet have to find the Heffalump, watch Rabbit scheme to rid the forest of Kanga’s dreaded bathtub, and help Eeyore search for his tail. Pooh’s intentions are always the best, but his passion for honey and condensed milk keeps getting him into trouble.
