Weekend Picks: Drop off art class, George Washington’s birthday and sledding

February 14, 2014

You’re probably ready to get out of the house after the amazing amount of snow we got. We’ve got some indoor and outdoor weekend picks for the family along with a few sledding hills that you may be interested in zipping down. Have you checked out the new bowling alley in Georgetown?

Saturday–

9:00am- 5:00pm Celebrate George Washington’s 282nd Birthday at Mount Vernon!
(3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Highway,  Mount Vernon, VA 22121)
Mt. Vernon has a weekend full of activities to celebrate General Washington’s 282nd birthday. Breakfast with George Washington, wreath laying ceremony, dancing demonstrations and musical celebrations are a few of the planned activities.  Celebrations go on all weekend: Feb. 15-17, Free Admission on Feb. 17! I’ve taken advantage of the complimentary entry and it is crowded but still worth going if that’s the only time you can make the visit.  $17 adult/$8/child.
