Weekend Picks: CD Releases and Truck Touch

It’s summer, which means lots of fun things to do outdoors, including free movies under the stars. Check out this list!

Saturday-

9:30am-11:30am: Truck Touch at Grace Episcopal Day School
(9411 Connecticut Ave Kensington, MD 20895)
Climb on, hop in, and interact with a variety of trucks for free! Food, beverages, face painting, bouncy house and a bake sale.

10:00am-11:00pm: Capital Wheel turns 1!
(116 Waterfront Street National Harbor, MD 20745)
We’ll be throwing a Capital Wheel Birthday Party, complete with live music on the pier and amazing giveaways! Plus, the first 500 riders on May 30th will receive Buzz Bakery cupcakes!

10:00am-8:00pm: Discover Madagascar at Vienna Community Center
(120 Cherry St SE, Vienna, VA 22180)
Learn about the world’s 4th largest island. Market space, vendors, live music, folkloric dances, arts and crafts, Malagasy food and more. All tickets include a plate of food.

10:30am:Rainbow Rock “Meet the Rainbow” CD Release at Jammin Java
(227 Maple Ave E, Vienna, VA)
Get ready to rock the rainbow! We are so excited to be releasing our first CD, thanks to many of our amazing fans!!! Hope you can join us to celebrate and pick up your copy of, “Meet the Rainbow!” $8 for everyone one and older or Family 4-Pack for $25!

Sunday-

10:30am: Mr. Gabe and the Circle Time All-Stars at Takoma Park Gazebo
(7035 Carroll Ave., Takoma Park, MD 20912)
Celebrate their CD Release at this free, jammin event. Before or after the show you can walk around the Farmers Market and shop the cute stores and find a new restaurant.

1:30pm-2:30pm: Family Circus Yoga at Lil Omm
(4708 Wisconsin Ave. NW  Washington, DC 20016)
Family yoga classes bring kids and parents together in creative and fun ways. We explore movement and postures by playing, listening and watching. Every session incorporates a touch of theme-based mindfulness. We follow a Vinyassa Flow format injected with lots of activities and partner poses. Novel adaptations from Circus and Acro-Yoga add a touch of spice. You and your child will leave feeling nourished and successful. Ages 5 and up.

Saturday & Sunday-

NSO Teddy Bear Concert: Violins and Trombones and Bears, Oh My! at The Kennedy Center
(2700 F St., NW, Washington, D.C. 20566)
We can be as different as trombones and violins, and still play together in harmony! Kids and stuffed animals alike will hear the unique sounds of a garden hose, funnel horn, a grownup violin and a baby one, and trombones in three sizes! Ages 3-5., 45 minutes, $20.00
