Participants will learn to bait a hook with worms, put their line in the water and pull in fish. Prizes for kids who catch the biggest, smallest and greatest number of fish. Ages 3-15, $8. Register online for Montgomery ParkPASS #268199.
9:30am: Choo choo! Take the Kidical Mass Biketrain to Tour de Fat
(2801 8th St NE, Washington, DC 20017)
Tour de Fat is a wacky, whimsical and family friendly festival and celebration of bicycling. Tour de Fat is FREE and open to the public. The day is jam-packed with live music and entertainment, local vendors, interactive bicycle activities, and of course beer! And what more fun for the kids; costumes are strongly encouraged–they’ll be bringing bike decorating supplies to help you make a statement with your bike!

Carnival, vendors, fireworks and a 5/10K race. There is also a Children’s area with hands-on activities including a model train display and live entertainment.

John Henry’s interactive show engages children of all ages as they dance, sing and imagine. $6 advanced/$8 door.
11:00am: Rio Washingtonian Carousel opens!

The Americana-themed classic carousel will feature 30 Allan Herschell-style dancing horses, whimsical creatures, and two chariots, allowing for up to 38 adult and 30 children passengers, with wheelchair access and chariot wheelchair positions. $3/ride. While you are there don’t miss the paddle boats, train and playground.
11:30am: Arts on the Horizon present Sunny and Licorice

Sunny, the zoo’s sole orangutan, is delighted to get a new roommate, but things don’t go smoothly when Licorice first arrives. Sunny likes to be loud, but Licorice prefers to read the newspaper. And Licorice likes to keep things tidy, but Sunny keeps making a mess! When the zookeeper leaves behind a radio, a curious thing happens — toes start tapping and arms start swinging. Could music bring this “odd couple” together? Plays through June 14, tickets are $8.

(Corner where Cleveland Ave, 29th Street and Calvert St intersect)
Also called “Fiesta” the fair will have new attractions like the Safari Obstacle Course and 30 foot tall Spider Climb, plus old favorites like the cake walk, dunk tank, giant slide, and moon bounces. There will be live performances and delicious food – hot dogs, hamburgers, pupusas, cotton candy, snow cones, and more.
1:o0pm-3:30pm: Dueling Piano Family Show at Bobby McKeys
(172 Fleet St. National Harbor, MD 20745)
Bobby McKeys is located at the National Harbor, you may have been here for adult beverages and entertainment. They open their doors at 1:00pm for a family friendly show sure to get your kids up, dancing and singing. $18/Adults $15/Kids, under 2 free, ticket includes buffet ticket. You could tie this trip in and also stop by the National Children’s Museum or with the brand new Carousel at National Harbor.

1:00pm and 3:00pm: National Symphony Orchestra Family Concert: Mozart’s Magnificient Voyage at The Kennedy Center

Mozart’s young son Karl longs to leave boarding school and spend more time with his famous father. When he stumbles upon a magic traveling trunk, his wish comes unexpectedly true as he’s swept back in time to Mozart’s childhood! Age 5+.
Come early for the Musical Instrument “Petting Zoo.” An hour before each NSO Family Concert, young concertgoers can get up close and hands-on with the instruments they’ll see played on the stage–from violins, trumpets, and oboes to trombones and percussion–in the Kennedy Center Atrium. Stay after the 3 p.m. concerts for a Kids’ Chat. Following the 3 p.m. concert, young audience members can ask questions and hear engaging stories in an up-close-and-personal talk with the concert artists.
1:35pm: Rangers at Washington Nationals

Kids Run the Bases: Kids ages 4 – 12 are invited to run the bases on the field immediately following the game, field conditions permitting. Signature Sundays: Every Sunday, two Nationals players will sign autographs from on top of the Nationals dugout starting one hour and 10 minutes prior to first pitch. New this season, fans must obtain a free voucher to participate in autograph sessions. Available at first gates (2 hours and 30 minutes before first pitch), a limited number of vouchers will be distributed on a first come, first served basis at Sections 109 and 142. Weather permitting, subject to player schedules and timing.
6:00pm-9:00pm: Movies on the Potomac at National Harbor
