The Hula-Hoopin Queen is based on the Oprah Winfrey recommended picture book, The Hula-Hoopin’ Queen by Thelma Lynne Godin and illustrated by Vanessa Brantley-Newton. The play is adapted by Gloria Bond Clunie and directed by Angelisa Gillyard.
